Shumei Invitational Concert brings highly acclaimed chamber music to Pasadena including a world premiere by Emmy Award-winning composer Stephen Cohn!

Experience the collaborative artistry of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music featuring the UCLA Spikes Cello Ensemble with special friends, directed by Latin Grammy Award-winning cellist, Antonio Lysy.

The concert will include a world premiere by Emmy Award-winning composer Stephen Cohn and works by Villa Lobos, Piazzolla, Debussy, and more.

Cohn remarks on the experience of premiering past works with the Shumei Arts Council, saying, “The aesthetics, the acoustics and the audiences have made my premieres in Shumei Hall very rewarding.” He adds, “I am excited to be working with Antonio Lysy and wonderful musicians from UCLA on my new work for flute, harp and three cellos.
